About Michelle Muir and Nuff Said
Her art is also her business. In 1999, she began NuffSaid, a spoken word entertainment business through which she is commissioned to write and perform customized poetry for events, functions, and productions. It is through NuffSaid that Michelle speaks to audiences of all ages on the subjects of the oral tradition, music, poetry and the art of spoken word.
Dubbed an ambassador for literacy, Ms. Muir performs for audiences across Canada and the United States. She had the privilege of performing for the late, great Oscar Peterson, and has shared the stage with Canadian storyteller, Robert Munsch, and comedian Russell Peters. Ms. Muir’s poetry can be found in the CBC Radio’s Poetry Face Off 2006 and 2007 CD compilations.
Whether it’s on stage performing spoken word or providing poetry workshops or lecturing on educational best practices and strategies or donning her costumes to storytell as “Auntie Michee” and “Lady Fro”; Michelle Muir’s lively and innovative presentations offer something for everyone.
Michelle lives in Toronto, Canada and her debut book of poetry, entitled Nuff Said, (which includes a spoken word CD), is being published by TSAR Books, in November of 2009.
